For close to a year I have been trying to see a resident at George Pearson Centre and I was always told that the patient was NOT up-to-it. The last e-mail I got from Risk Management said that CarolAnn does not want to see me. It has been close to a year and I do not believe Richard Singleton, Director of Risk Management.
Since I can't access George Pearson Centre I decided I would do up a sign so that someone would get a message to CarolAnn to say that I was on the sidewalk boulevard. The sign said: TELL CAROL ANNE THAT I MISS HER. Innocent enough even if she doesn't want to see me I wanted her to know that I have not abandoned her. She is a quad and she can't speak.
To make the situation a bit tense, Paladin Security, the security company that has taken over the security of all Vancouver Coastal Health properties and the one that really hurts is that Paladin and their lack of understanding basic law is even in the court house, approached me and threatened to call the police as I was harassing patients. What patients. No one asked me about my sign and I was on a public sidewalk..
That reminds me whatever happened to my complaint of October 21, 2013, wherein the security guard, Karen Marshall, put a choke hold on me when I was acting in self-defense over the hysterics of two nurses: one who was tired and the other spiteful.
And there is Cheryl, Randy's nurse at that time, who saw me fall on the sidewalk when I was going to visit Randy and I wasn't able to get up. She walked by me without even inquiring if I was okay. No I wasn't okay. Whatever happened to her and my complaint. I suspect because the fall happened on public property she was under no obligation to help me.
I have come to the conclusion that Vancouver Coastal Health is a totalitarian state, with its own police force, ruled by star chamber justice.

Randy's Stuff
I haven't been able to unpack Randy's belonging yet. I just couldn't. I was afraid that if any of his belongings were missing and I would become upset and I am tired of being upset. GPC won't even let me on site to pick up his stuff. A friend of my went there and she said that Randy's stuff was in garbage bags in a common area that anyone could rifle though. I asked for an inventory but GPC refused to do one. I know his memory foam pillow which I purchased for him went missing in December 2013 and his stand for his television was thrown out without notifying me.
I want to know why Karen Marshall, a security guard, put a choke hold on me when I was attempting to remove Randy lawfully from GPC: October 2013. Paladin Security isn't suppose to touch anyone so why did she do this to me. Practising her martial arts on an old lady. I told the police I wanted her charged and the police did nothing. And there was Brad who stood at the entrance to the visitior's room when I was inside in a boxing stance with his fists up threatening to punch me if I attempted to leave the room. Once you get labeled by VCH you are open season for abuse. Where do these people come from that encourage violence.

Picketing George Pearson Centre October 24 2013.
It was comical watching these two huge security guards standing in front of the door to the entrance of George Pearson Centre this afternoon.. What a joke and a waste of money.
What did they expect me to do. I like picketing. You talk to a lot of people and most are very supportive. Not most, all. Vancouver Coastal Health has a rotten reputation and what I am doing will just add to it.. The Eden principal says that residents have to live a normal life and GPC is the furtherest thing from a normal life there is.
I was told by a nurse today that Randy was happy, not depressed,. had no temperature, and he was being given excellent care although he still wasn't put into his wheel chair. He has suffered sixteen weeks at VGH being in bed and there is no reason for his forced bed rest now. All he does is look at the ceiling and silently scream with rage. Later I received two emails disputing her assessment. Both said he was non responsive and very unhappy. Maybe someone should remind Tanu what atrophy does. It will take him weeks to get over this psychological trauma caused by what happened on Monday and his physical deterioration from lack of exercise may never come back. The only thing Randy can be assured of is bed sores as his skin is fragile and he does not have an air mattress like he had at VGH. This is why I need to have access to him at his bedside 24/7 to make sure everything possible is being done to make Randy as comfortable as can be like insisting that he has a proper mattress. Also I was told by VGH that Randy should be on a blood thinner but GPC said that it wasn't necessary as he gets exercise at GPC. What a joke when they don't even position him. I have never seen him being positioned during the years. He will get a blood clot and he will die and no one will even connect the fact that he wasn't on a blood thinner.
Again I tried to phone Randy on his line 604-321-5911 and it was still not ringing. It just goes to show that they do not even read my emails or this blog or someone would have made sure the phone could ring.
The police didn't come again today although I contacted the district commander of district 4 to send someone to clear up this mess. VGH is guilty of assaulting me and imprisoning Randy without his consent. It is just a matter of time until the media picks up on this and there will be serious questions asked nationally as to why the police did not protect a vulnerable person from being imprisoned (and possibly medically ill treated). All the police have to do is tell GPC that Randy cannot be held against his will and for GPC to release him and GPC will have to agree. Simple.
In this situation there is no two sides to the cruelty that happened. GPC is in a superior position and abused this power with malice and intent. Poor Randy being in the middle and not being able to defend himself or me. GPC failing to communicate with me which is what they will regrettable allege is no defense. Randy not being able to to talk or move and he seeing me being attacked by a group of idiots.It is like a child seeing his mother violently assaulted. He did not deserve that. He did not ask that these strangers protect him from me.. He has always wanted me to look after him. In 2010 a letter with twenty copies was distributed at VGH of which Kim Sinclair has a copy. So why was this directive never respected.

Another Bad Day
The only thing that was agreeable today was the weather. I was worried about Randy because I had only seen him for three hours this past week. I decided to go to GPC and leave Randy a short letter and a pair of fleece pj bottoms. I phoned when I got there and no one answered the phone so I left a message for someone to come and get Randy's stuff. I waited outside. About twenty minutes later I asked a passing visitor if she would go into Ward 2 and read the letter to Randy and leave the fleece pj bottom. She came back and said that Randy was looking forward to going to my place on Monday. As I was readying myself to leave, a security guard told me to leave or else he would call the police as I wasn't allowed on the property on weekends. Not true. I am just not allowed into Ward 2. I haven't pushed the issue of my admission to Ward 2 as if there is someone there who is afraid of me I do not want to cause him or her additional fear. That isn't the whole truth though. I was told by Linda Rose that my banning was forever. Since no evidence has been given to me as to what I did I am at a loss as to why she would say tht. I asked the young security if he had viewed the You Tube video George Pearson Centre yet. Every time I see him I ask him and every time he says No. He should be aware of this most important video which was paid for by VCH. Also it is a requirement by Paladin that its security guards become integrated into GPC and its culture (see its webpage) and so they are aware of the dynamics of where they work. I then told him to call the police. I don't like being threatened when there is no reason. A few minutes later I left and when I was walking up Cambie Street sure enough two police cars came racing towards 57th and turned right. I shook my head. This is the same young security guard who tried on a previous occasion to throw me out of the GPC building when I was visiting residents not Randy and I secured bruising: all the colours of the rainbow. I showed the bruising as they changed colour to witnesses but I didn't do anything about the incident as the young security guard was only doing his job albeit with bad information and that was when I started whenever I saw him ask him did he view the You Tube Video: George Pearson Centre. Another time he also called the police on me and accused me of kidnapping Randy. I had taken Randy off site to a coffee bar across the street from GPC and I was returning him. I didn't know what to do as my instinct was to protect Randy against this unreasonable authority figure so I asked for the RN to come out and talk to me. That took about 1/2 hour in the cold and in the mean time the police showed up. These incidents are so stupid they are true. I can't make them up.
My flashback memory came back and I remember a time I was in GPC and this young security guard was motioning that the bully from Ward 2 to hide from my view. The bully from Ward 2 weighs 200 pounds and he doesn't need a 23-year old security guard to protect him. I remember shaking my head and forgot the incident. Today I looked in the parking lot and sure enough the vehicle that the bully uses was there. It is a new red Chevrolet four door cabin 4-wheel drive truck. Of course, the bully and the young security guard are colluding i.e. the bully is manipulating the security guard. It always interests me when bullies bully. I wonder if he is even paying for his wife's care. Working for a small company that he owns offers him the opportunity to pay himself a small salary so he can claim he doesn't have enough income to pay for her care while retaining profits in his company. He even cooks his meals in Ward 2 (which are against the rules see www.vch.ca George Pearsson Centre Resident and Family Handbook). I was told that his Silverado cost $62,000. You should see the inside of it. Everything is showroom perfect. All the bullies I have knowm are perfectionists. Should I be surprised.
