Daphne Bramham and Bountiful (the FLDS)

On 13 August 2017 I attended a gathering where Daphne was speaking on the August 11 2017 decision of the court.  The court had sentenced Mr. and Mrs. Blackmore to jail for facilitating a polygamous marriage of their 13 year old daughter to a Mormon leader.

Daphne said that when abuse was suspected by hospital staff when children of Bountiful went to Creston emergency, the hospital was not allowed to contact the police. This directive came from the AG of BC. They were instructed to contact the Bishop Blackmore.

That must be the same protocol that the VPD has with VCHA.  On two occasions I was assaulted by VCHA staff and when the police (I had them called) both times), the police arrived and I told them that I wanted charges laid and nothing came of it. They assault me, they sit on me imprisoning me, they accused me of using a pen as a weapon.  But they would not phone the police.  And when the police finally came it was in response to its  non-emergency number which delayed their attendance.

VCHAstaff were following orders.  Following illegal orders went out with the Nuremberg trials.

The Bountiful protocol must exist between the VPD and VCHA.  VPD may attend but their function is only to calm and do nothing. . The police were so kind to me ... too kind. Their job was to calm me so that I did not insist on charges.  VPD did not investigate the black and blue brusings.They did not even talk to the attackers. Thinking back the VPD were very respectful as if they knew they could not do anything.  Much like the judge I faced on April 8 2014.  He would not grant VCHA the restraining order it sought but he did adjourn the matter for 30-days.  I still remember him loooking down at me as if to say he was sorry that was the best he could do.  Randy was comatose and he died five days later in ICU.

Therefore, VCHA has authority to be thugs and nothing will ever happen to them.  MLA Stilwell told me when I was being bullied by the VCHA in 2011, she could not help me as VCHA had its own government.

Thank you Daphne for pointing out the Bountiful protocol. Downloading policing powers to non-profits (churches and hospitals and the SPCA) is a slippery slope to a futuristic dark world that I want no part of.

Inconsistency of Modern Biothics ( health care)

The inconsistency of modern bioethics is breathtaking. On the one hand, if you want to end your chronic suffering or deal with a terminal illness by committing suicide, today’s utilitarian ethicists will invoke personal autonomy as the guiding principle and endorse your plans. But if you choose to continue living in spite of your suffering or terminal diagnosis, those same ethicists brush aside the notion of personal autonomy, label your request as unreasonable, and conclude that you are sadly incapable of making the “right” choice.

Note:  I was told that it was in Randy's best interest to die.

At the time when I was told on my cell that Randy was being moved to a private room at GPC because he was dying I was at VGH talking to his doctor there and he said Randy was okay. Randy just returned from VGH to GPC.  So why was he forced to return against Randy's objections as he was afraid of being returned there to GPC and I advised VGH since 2010 that Randy nor I wanted him in GPC as it was not safe they kept sending him back. I remember being told by VGH that although Randy was full code and that VGH had  no power over what Dr. Dunn would do when he was returned to GPC.  GPC is a satellite of VGH and VGH said it has no power over GPC and it would not investigate our concern that it was not safe for Randy to be at GPC.  How inconceivable.  I remember asking for VGH/GPC to send Randy home if he was dying as this was not what Randy wanted and both refused.  So I assumed he was not going to die. Trust the health authority, I think not.

As I understand the euthanasia act to be on Februaty 6 2016, that it only takes two doctors to collude together to rid the system of costly longterm chronic patients.

Randy was not on a ventilator, he was on a trach and he was not in pain. Although he was on a trach and could not talk, he knew exactly what they were trying to do with him: hasten  his death without his authority to do so by using a do not attempt DNR. I always wondered why they would say do not attempt a DNR on a document that the patient did not sign.  Does that mean to tell the health professionals covertly if they had a patient who had signs of an upcoming heart attack because he had a high temperature (pneumonia) or that if a patient was having a trouble breathing not to assist him: put him in an isolated private room "pull the curtain" and let him die alone. Just do not go near the room so you can not hear him gasping for oxygen because then you would have to do something. My musing.

To the patients (and loved ones out there) INSIST that you read and get a copy of your medical report each single day.  If your relatives/friends want a copy, the hospital or care home can send them a copy via fax with a caveat by your that all entries have to be readable. Or the hospital can use a cell phone., take a picture of the record, and send it to them.  If you are a substitute decision maker, you are entitled to this information: you should be aware of his up-to-date medical file.  How else can you make an informed decision; it is easy for the health authority to say you are not capable to make medical decisions and appoint the PGT.  This is what they did to me. A copy could be sent to anyone that the patient would want to monitor his progress (advocacy groups).

It is up to the patient to decide who he wants to know his health condition and treatment and not the hospital or the government.

Another Week

The woman neighbour of mine who doesn't like to look at wheelchair bound people spent last weekend painting the new cement steps (blockage) red.  I get to admire her paint job each day.  She like GPC is putting me in my place.  To bully, to bully, to bully.  All you have to do is to end being bullied is to become part of their mob and then find another target for group cohesion. It seems to be a well-known fact within the medical community that the nurses eat their own (i.e. rule by bullying) and that is why we have a nursing shortage.  It only takes a short time after a new novice realizes this and she quickly exits leaving the nursing profession to those that bully rather than care.

And as for George Pearson Centre, the gentleman  (Bob Chapman) who signed my banning letter in February 2011 is going on holidays for three weeks.  Although he is entitled to holidays I do not know how he can afford to take the time away from Vancouver Coastal Health as as he is the

Director of Risk Management;
Director of Patient Care Quality;
Acting Director of At Home Support;
Acting Director of Complex Care.

There is no law that says he can't forfeit his holidays for the greater good like the 1,000,000 people he should be answering to.

Watch what will happen.  A new VCH policy will be put in place saying that management will no long tell anyone that they are going on holidays as it would destablize the public's faith in what is going on by their extensive leaves. When they are on holidays the public will just be told that the person is not available.

I was absolutely amazed on Friday.  I had Randy with me at my place.  When it is hot I make sure that he is always in a cool place away from the sun and now that I cannot have access to the shade which my neighbour has blocked with her red cement blocks, Randy was inside.  He was acting very combatively.  He kept pointing randomly around my one-room residence.  I was beginning to think he had no more brain cells.  I finally gave him a pointer so he could point better than with his hand.  He kept pointing everywhere.  He was manic.  He was pointing at the floor area.  Then I realized what he wanted.  He wanted me to unclutter my living space.  Do you want me to cleanup my apartment, I asked, and he nodded yes.  It is rather hard to unclutter a 450 square foot apartment that is the home to two doggies who like to play/distribute all my things.  It would be a lot easier if the agent for the property would force the lady with the red steps to give up some of her storage space as she has a crawl space, two storage lockers, a extra small room that used to be for caretakers equipment, and a garage for her new black convertible (MB) but that will never happen.  The lady with the red steps lives in a two bedroom duplex by herself and I stress by herself.  And she isn't even a pack rat, she is very very neat and orderly to the point of it from my observation being an obsession.  What she claims is hers is hers. No sharing allowed.  Same rational as the head nurse from George Person Centre. I am engulfed by these mindsets.

My sabbatical is now over. This past week three things happened that I feel the members of DERA and the community at large should know about.

• I attended at a quickly called board meeting of DERA. We were told that it was closed to members. Only two items were on the agenda; one was payment of an account; and the other the status of the elevators in one of the buildings. Both of these were not in any way to my way of thinking confidential. From my readings around the Society Act the only thing that stands out that should be confidential is the negotiations around the hiring of an employee and the negotiations around contracts.
• On Thursday I attended a meeting with the VPD and BCH and we were told that the Assistance to Shelter Act (on the street known as the Kidnapping Act) is legislated only during extreme weather alerts (a few days a year): 2006-2007 39 nights and 2007-2008 28 nights And, most importantly, the policy of the VPD will be not to use force. The ASA states that the police may use force and VPD decided that means that the VPD has a policy not to use force.
• On Thursday afternoon I attended at the Law Library and the clerk directed me to a Report by the BC Law Institute - a 500 page document that has been in the process for years, to create a New Society Act. As I glanced over it I was disturbed over some of the sections. If any of you have had gone ballistic experiences with a non-profit or charity please let me know.
