I just had a friend of mine visit and he reminded me of an incident (4 April 2014) he witnessed (he said it was cruel) wherein a charge ER nurse in VGH as soon as she found out who I was (while I was standing at Randy's bedside) immediately became angry and agitated. Her immediate response was to call security and have me evicted. My friend told this nurse that this behavior was cruel and unusual as security pulled me fromRandy's bedside.
The only way the ER charge nurse could have been alerted that I was in Emerg was by a telephone call from Ro Ang, the manageress of George Pearson Centre. He was dying and Ro did this. What harm could I have done.
I was 70 years old at the time, weighing 100 pounds, and I was no physical threat to anyone. I was treated by the ER staff as a piece of unwanted junk. He died nine days later.
I sat on the sidewalk outside for hours until I was told that Randy was stable.
Who started this hate of me. I want to know.
It should be noted however that Randy and I were married and I was standing at his bedside holding his hand. Not interfering with anyone. He was simply lying in a berth in the ER waiting for a doctor to see him. He did not look well, he had an infection, necessitating antibiotics, and needed intensive care.
Since I was banned I did not know if he was properly attended to. But I remember the cruelty.
Randy was only 57 and could not defend me as he could not talk because he was trached.
-------------------
I was talking to a new friend and I mentioned the 30 November 2017 court appearance I was at. It was I thought a simple application. But then nothing is simple... I mentioned to her that the application involved only me (no other cases) but a security guard was standing ten feet away from me during the session. I remember asking him why was he there. He did not answer. My new found friend was dismayed that they would do this. I conclude now this is a way to get a judge to bias his opinion as I must be a crazy or else VCHA would not have asked for a security guard to be there. VCHA would do anything to infer to a court that something was amiss. What an insult to me and to the court.
It is the same thing VCHA does with their oral submissions. Instead of keeping to the facts they bring up items that are irrelevant but can negatively influence a judge. Like the time VCHA said that it did not know if I was married to my husband or not. As if being married to him or not made a difference. It does make a difference if a judge is from the old school where being married meant that a spouse had some legal rights and a concubine had none.
Recently a non-represented litigant over a ten year period had numerous lawyers and sure enough this fact was repeated over and over again to discredit him with each court appearance. There are reasons for lawyer changing; from illness, to retirement, to getting pregnant. Lawyers may be only hired for only one aspect of a case.
These actions are not worthy of any respect. I would call it litigation misconduct but the lawyers do it all the time and no one does anything about it.
I was no threat to anyone in the courtroom. It was intimidation. No wonder I am suffering from post traumatic stress. When a lawyer arranges such a negative connotation the judge seems to cuts off any further discussion that a self-represented plaintiff might make as the judge decides it would only be ramblings and a waste of time.
Although I am aware of what they are trying to do, it does not diminish the fear that they are getting away with such behavior and what more harm will happen to me because of their conduct. You can only live in fear for so long. I was bullied by VCHA from 2010 the date Randy was sent to George Pearson Centre and now even within the courthouse. Will it ever stop. The gossip, the innuendo, the false facts. The banishment, the alienation. The sordidness of it all. Why.

Randy November 2013
I remember when Randy was transferred to George Pearson Centre from Vancouver General Hospital in November 2013, no one would tell me where he was. He was gone and when I went to the nurses station they were all there maybe one-half dozen of staff milling around. It was policy. If a patient is transferred VGH will not tell you where he went. I was extremely upset and not one of them would help me. It was as if they were laughing at me.They knew something that I did not and they enjoyed seeing me in distress. I was not an occasional visitor, they all knew me, I would go to see Randy every single day. VGH knew for weeks ahead that Randy was to be sent to George Pearson Centre and yet I was not privy to this information. Randy could not tell me as he could not talk. That sick policy is still in effect. So you never know if someone died or not.

VGH refused to investigate Randy's near death on November 18 2013
I really do not understand how our medical system works. I told VGH that Randy had an illegal DNR on him and he would have died if I did not intervene with his care on November 18 2013. VGH did nothing. That incident should have been investigated as VGH was aware of it.

I tried so hard.
As Randy lay unconscious on 13 April 2014 and VGH ICU would not let me hold him in my arms (they called security) I cried over and over saying to comatose Randy That I was so sorry that I did everything I could do but they won't help him. Randy only wanted to come home. If he was going to die he wanted to be with me. I couldn't even hold him, how cruel they were. The ICU bed belonged to the hospital so I could not touch it and there was a liability issue. Critical thinking on the part of this third world imported nurse was shocking.
I buried Randy on the Island in a green grave ceremony. It was a beautiful day among the trees and nature and sun and a light wind and the sound of life among the foliage and rockery.. I piled handful and handfuls of pink carnations and small white flowers over his grave site. The pink carnations symbolize that he will never be forgotten. Carnations are a study flower and can last five-six weeks with light rain.
I promised that I was going to wear Randy's Steelers clothing as a tribute to his death but I haven't been able to do that yet. He was a Steelers fan and most of his clothes were Steelers brand name.
At VGH I was only able to afford to pay for television for him so he could watch the Steelers games. It was expensive $20.00 a day with tax and I remember he looked at me and moved his head up and moved his lips to say " thank you.".
Only patients that have extended medical get free television and a private room. When I research the hospitality network I learned that VGH earns $1,000,000 a year for the televisions from the backs of the poor. Televisions are cheap now so there is no reason except for the windfall the hospital gets so that most poor patients are without entertainment and families mostly cannot afford $600 a month.. I do not understand why a group hasn't made an issue of this yet. But then I suppose the hospitality company that own the televisions are all doctors and everyone treads lightly with them.

Doctors in Ontario have to follow the law re DNRs and informed consent.
At least in Ontario, doctors are finally instructed to follow the law:
Doctors at a major Toronto hospital violated the law by unilaterally imposing a do-not-resuscitate order on an elderly patient against his family’s wishes, an Appeal Board has ruled in an extraordinary clash over end-of-life care.
go to National Post and type in DNR (father : Douglas DeGuerre ; daughter: Joy Wawrzyniak, who saw her father die and no one would help including the doctors who put the illegal DNR Order on her father).
This happened to me twice finding Randy needing acute care as he was heading for heart failure but I was lucky I called 911 and Randy's imminent death via DNR was averted.
But then I was banned on January 29 2014 from both George Pearson Centre and all other Vancouver General Hospitals because of disrespectful conduct. Risk Management said the Order would be extended forever; this was confirmed by a letter from its lawyers.
Randy finally died on April 13 2014 from organ failure. No one told me he had bad organs.
I had to get a Supreme Court Order to see Randy die in the ICU. I had to get the Order by myself (self-counsel).
I do not know how the Public Trustee and Guardian got involved but its lawyer was able to get an adjournment at the first court hearing for three weeks as Randy's condition was "plateaued" so I could not see Randy for another three weeks and a few days later he died. The PGT didn't care about Randy. If they did they would have made sure I had access to Randy.
If anyone knows how to get a hold of Joy Wawrzniak please refer her to this blog and thank her for fighting for her father since 2008. I would like to talk to her. 604-321-2276
Postscript September 9, 2014, no mention of the Ontario decision is found in the Province or the Sun.
I am also looking for Mary Turner who was/is a resident of Prince George. She lives/lived across from the college.

If you as a reader are disturbed by the way the medical establishment behaves, email Randy's MLA, Dr.Moira Stilwell. Moria.stilwell.mla@leg.bc.ca or phone her office at 604.660.8360 and tell her so.If she gets 200,000 emails and/or phone calls, things will swiftly change. It has got to. We can't be bullied by the medical authorities to the detriment of our security of person. They want DNRs so they can take people's lives away from them before it is truly time. Quality of life issues for the most part are bogus. What quality of life do I have: I am poor
